Understanding Portland's Shifting Market

As many of you may have heard, interest rates in the Portland area recently hit a 7-year high, inventory has increased and home sales prices are beginning to drop. So...what does this shifting market mean for our real estate economy? In all actuality, the activity we’ve seen in the last few years with 20+ offers in the first week and homes selling for $30 - $50k+ over asking is simply not sustainable, which means we're headed towards a healthier real estate market. While there's no need to panic about a market crash, I am committed to ensuring my clients are properly prepared in this shifting market. If you've been thinking about buying, selling or investing in a home and feel unsure of what your best strategy is, let's start with a no-obligation conversation today.

A Word of Advice For Buyers and Sellers in Today's Market

As we embrace the final quarter of the year, here are some important things to keep in mind. Buyers may want to take advantage of this rare 3.1 months of inventory and seize the opportunity to see more home options at more affordable prices. As a seller, it could be in your best interest to sell in the next 6-8 months before predicted interest rate hikes hit in the upcoming year. Not sure? Give me a call today to best assess your situation.

Expanding Our Expertise to Better Serve You and Your Referrals

With enough years under my belt to pursue the next tier of professionalism as a real estate agent, I’m excited to announce that I'm currently studying to obtain my principal broker’s license. Achieving this designation will allow me to hire and manage licensed brokers under the Logan Gerritz Realty Group umbrella so I can better serve each client in realizing their home goals.

Mastering Mindset for a Happier, Healthier Life

In real estate, we talk a lot about mindset - mindset with money, mindset with clients and mindset with ourselves. Over the next couple weeks, I encourage you to focus on the conversations you’re having with yourself. Are you comparing yourself to others? Does it seem like other people have something you don’t? Maybe it’s to be fit, have more friends or a better job. Or maybe you want more free time and money to go on vacations you’ve dreamed about. Whatever your situation, it’s important to remember that comparisons rob us of our contentment. Instead of thinking about all the things you don’t have or how great your life would be if only you could have/be/do ___________ (fill in the blank), I encourage you to start focusing on everything you do have. Start expressing gratitude for everything in your life and you will naturally attract more joy, happiness and harmony. I know because this practice has worked so well for me when I find myself in a comparison mindset. Test it out and see what a change in mindset and heart can do for you.
